Celsius Resources’(CLA) subsidiary, Makilala Mining, has commenced drilling at the Maalinao Caigutan-Biyog (MCB) copper-gold project in the Philippines.

The program will drill 4000 metres across six holes. An additional three holes are also planned for the following year.

MEGA Philippines was chosen to carry out the drilling at MCB. MEGA holds exclusive contracts for some of the biggest projects in the country.

The drilling program is part of a larger exploration program, which is targeting resource expansion and infill of the MCB JORC Mineral Resource.

The maiden indicated and inferred mineral resource sits at 313.8 million tonnes at 0.48 per cent copper and 0.15g/t gold for 1.5 million tonnes of contained copper and 1.47 million ounces of contained gold.

In tandem with the program, the company has begun implementing its mandatory environmental and community development programs.

MCB is a copper and gold project located on the Island of Luzon in the Philippines, about 320 kilometres north of Manila.

Notably, the planning and implementation of the technical work programs is currently underway for the exploration program. These includes metallurgical and flotation test work, conceptual hydrological model and underground mine development.
