  • Centaurus Metals (CTM) has been given high-quality assays from its drilling program at the Jaguar Project in Brazil
  • These new results have continued to confirm and have now extended the high-grade nickel sulphide mineralisation
  • A further 45 metres of strike has been confirmed to the east of the Onca Preta deposit, which now brings it to 300 metres in total
  • Drill rigs are operating on double shifts and exploration is set to continue

Centaurus Metals (CTM) has received another batch of high-quality assays from its ongoing diamond drilling program at the Jaguar Nickel Sulphide Project in Brazil.

Drilling has continued to confirm the extent of the high-grade nickel sulphide mineralisation drilled by Vale in their 55,000 metres of historical drilling at both the Jaguar South and Onca-Preta Deposits.

This has demonstrated the consistency of the mineralised zones and the high-grade zones with the down-hole electromagnetic (DHEM) conductor plates.

Highlights from the central ore zone of the Jaguar South Deposit include: 11.9 metres at 1.43 per cent nickel, 0.05 per cent copper and 0.02 per cent cobalt from 148.0 metres, including; 5.7 metres at 2.18 per cent nickel, 0.07 per cent copper and 0.04 per cent cobalt from 154.2 metres.

Highlights from the north-western zone of the Jaguar South Deposit include: 23.4 metres at 0.88 per cent nickel, 0.03 per cent copper and 0.02 per cent cobalt from 100.1 metres, 7.0 metres at 1.74 per cent nickel, 0.05 per cent copper and 0.04 per cent cobalt from 56.3 metres.

“We are intersecting strong zones of mineralisation where we expect to, as guided by the geophysical database and historical drilling,” Managing Director Darren Gordon said.

The recent results from the Onca-Preta deposit have returned new high-grade nickel mineralisation intersections beyond the historical resource limits. A further 45 metres of strike has been confirmed to the east which now brings its total to around 300 metres.

Highlights from this deposit include: 5.4 metres at 1.45 per cent nickel, 0.13 per cent copper and 0.07 per cent cobalt from 175.0 metres, 7.7 metres at 1.16 per cent nickel, 0.12 per cent copper and 0.11 per cent cobalt from 192.8 metres, and 8.4 metres at 1.06 per cent nickel, 0.06 per cent copper and 0.06 per cent cobalt from 148.3 metres.

“The level of activity on site is building nicely with a third diamond drill now operating on double‐shift and we are looking forward to ongoing drilling success as we continue to in‐fill the known high‐grade zones of mineralisation,” Darren continued.

Moving forward, the drilling program will continue and the focus will be shifted on other prospects in the next few weeks.

Centaurus’ shares remain flat today and are trading for 1.2 cents each at 3:34 pm AEDT.
