Centaurus Metals (CTM) has intersected further high-grade semi-massive and massive nickel sulphides at the Onça Preta Deposit.

The Onça Preta Deposit is part of Centaurus’s Jaguar Nickel Sulphide Project which lies in the western portion of the Carajás Mineral Province of Brazil.

It spans an area of 30 square kilometres and has a mineral resource estimate of 58.9 million tonnes at 0.96 per cent nickel for 562,600 tonnes of contained nickel.

Hole JAG-21-DD-190 intersected more than 30 metres of stringer to semi-massive and massive nickel sulphide mineralisation.

This intersection is at a similar depth to hole JAGU-DH00014 which intersected 18 metres at 2.19 per cent nickel from 318 metres and 7.9 metres at 2.18 per cent nickel from 351 metres.

Holes JAG-DD-21-200 and JAG-DD-21-201 also intersected up to 15 metres of stringer to semi-massive nickel sulphides.

Furthermore, downhole electromagnetic (DHEM) surveys at Onça Preta have identified multiple strong late-time conductor plates.

These plates have a combined strike extent of over 300 metres and extend down to 200 metres at depth.

Managing Director Darren Gordon said the company was excited to be drilling at Onça Preta.

“Onça Preta is an exceptional orebody which has consistently returned outstanding high-grade intersections from both near-surface and at depth,” Mr Gordon said.

“I’m happy to say that the first visual results from the current round of drilling at Onça Preta are quite outstanding, with the company’s deepest drill hole to date intersecting over 30 metres of semi-massive and massive nickel sulphides.”

“We are excited by the opportunity to drill deeper at Onça Preta to test for further semi-massive to massive nickel sulphide mineralisation and extend the mineral resource.”

Shares in Centaurus were down 1.03 per cent on the market and were trading at 96.5 cents at 10:46 am AEST.
