Chalice Mining (ASX:CHN) has secured approvals from the Western Australian Government to commence exploration drilling across the entire 30-kilometre interpreted strike length of the Julimar Complex.

The government approved the Stage 3 Conservation Management Plan (CMP) and Programme of Work (PoW), paving the way for this significant exploration program.

The low-impact drilling is expected to commence shortly, focusing on targeted diamond drilling at Torres, Jansz, and Baudin, additional drilling at Hooley, and a comprehensive shallow air-core (AC) program.

Diamond drilling aims to assess the high-grade Ni-Cu-PGE potential of the area, while the AC program will evaluate ultramafic-mafic geology and identify new drill-testing targets.

Chalice will implement firm environmental controls, using small-footprint tracked drill rigs on existing tracks and non-vegetated areas, consistent with practices in the Julimar State Forest.

Despite the Julimar Complex mostly lying beneath the 29,000-hectare Julimar State Forest, recreational use will remain unaffected.

The Julimar Exploration Project, including the 2020 Gonneville Deposit discovery, is part of Chalice’s regional exploration portfolio in the West Yilgarn Province. It progresses independently from the Gonneville project’s pre-feasibility study stage.

CHN shares were up 13.1 per cent, trading at $1.68 at 1:25 pm AEDT.
