Chesser Resources (CHZ) has intersected up to 15.5g/t gold from Area D within the Diamba Sud Gold Project in Senegal, West Africa.

Results have been received from a further five diamond holes and one reverse circulation (RC) hole for a combined total of 449 metres.

These results come from a 6000-metre resource definition drill program which has been designed to infill and extend the mineralisation as well as gain a better understanding on the control on the mineralisation.

Once work wraps up, Chesser will undertake a maiden mineral resource estimate.

Diamond drilling was undertaken at the northeast corner of Area D, while the RC hole was the first hole to be drilled at Area A.

Drilling at Area D targeted the near-surface extensions of previously identified oxide mineralisation and results have confirmed the continuity and high-grade nature of the mineralisation.

Best results include 10.7 metres at 15.5g/t gold, 5.3 metres at 7.3g/t gold and 13 metres at 5.3g/t gold.

RC drilling at Area A intersected multiple intervals of mineralisation and returned results of two metres at 5.2g/t gold and five metres at 1.1g/t gold.

“The initial batch of resource definition drill results from the northeastern corner of Area D confirm the shallow high-grade nature of mineralisation in that area the results of which will feed into our maiden mineral resource estimate for Diamba Sud later in the year,” CEO Andrew Grove stated.

Chesser has dropped 11.8 per cent on the market and shares are trading at 15 cents at 12:49 pm AEST.
