CIMIC’s company Leighton Asia has been selected to construct a data centre campus in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The contract is for a multinational technology corporation and will generate revenue of about $103 million.

The construction works will comprise delivery of site infrastructure, a data centre with two data halls and associated buildings for storage, security and operational facilities, as well as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services, façade, and external works.

Construction will begin this month and is expected to be complete next year.

CEO Juan Santamaria said he believes Leighton Asia is the perfect choice for the construction.

“Leighton Asia has a strong track record of delivering industrial projects in Indonesia along with recent experience in the delivery of expansion works for a data centre in Hong Kong,” he said.

“We’re pleased to use these capabilities to meet our client’s needs for an advanced data centre.”
