CIMIC Group’s subsidiary, Broad Construction, has been awarded a contract to deliver stages one and two of a new high school in Brisbane.
The Inner City South State Secondary College is located in Dutton Park, just four kilometres south of the Brisbane CBD.
The contract was awarded by the Queensland Government who claims this education facility will service the growing communities in and around Brisbane’s inner south.
The project is expected to generate revenue of approximately $110 million to the CIMIC Group.
“We are proud to bring CIMIC Group’s leading building capability to deliver this important education facility, which will serve student and community needs now and for future generations,” CIMIC CEO Michael Wright said.
“Backed by CPB Contractors, Broad is our specialist building company, and continues to deliver a range of quality social infrastructure and commercial building projects across Queensland and Western Australia,” he continued.
This new school adds to Broad’s portfolio of social infrastructure projects. In Queensland, these range from education projects like the Yarrabilba State High School, to the re-development of Kingaroy Hospital.
The new education facilities will include creative hub and learning hubs, a multipurpose hall, administration and staff centre, canteen, learning plaza, a health and wellbeing hub, outdoor areas and car-park facilities.
“We look forward to working closely with the Queensland Department of Education to deliver a world class teaching and learning environment for the students, staff and wider school community,” CPB Contractors Managing Director Juan Santamaria said.
Site clearing commenced in July this year and Broad is scheduled to commence works before the year’s end for completion in 2021.
