Cirrus Networks (CNW), through its subsidiary, Cirrus Correct Communications, has won the managed service contract for Geoscience Australia.

The three-year contract is worth in excess of $13 million, with two one-year options, and was awarded to Cirrus after a competitive tender process.

The IT solutions provider is taking over from DXC Technology’s role, with the transition expected to be completed in May.

Geoscience Australia is an agency of the Australian Government and carries out geoscientific research. It is described as the country’s advisor on the geology and geography of Australia.

Cirrus says this is its first significant managed service contract win since it completed its Network Operations Centre (NOC), within its Canberra office.

NOC is the cornerstone of Cirrus’ market-leading managed service offering and the new facility provides a platform for the company’s next phase of growth.

“This contract success, which is a direct result of those efforts, represents a transformational win for the Canberra office and our Managed Service business
unit,” Managing Director Matt Sullivan said.

“We are excited to be given the opportunity to work collaboratively with the high quality staff at Geoscience Australia and look forward to showcasing to them our innovative, agile and customer focused approach to managed services, providing them with a great user experience,” he added.

On the market this morning, Cirrus is up 10.3 per cent and trading at 3.2 cents per share at 11:16 am AEDT.
