- Industrial water treatment company Clean Teq (CLQ) has secured a million-dollar contract to upgrade the water treatment plant at an antimony processing facility in Oman
- The initial contract was awarded in January this year to upgrade the facility with a focus on neutralising the wastewater for easier recovery and disposal
- The contract will allow the company to procure the plant and equipment required for the upgrade
- The water treatment plant is designed to remove a range of harmful elements from up to 200 tons of wastewater per day, reducing the amount of waste and allowing customers to re-use the water in their processing plant

Industrial water treatment company Clean Teq (CLQ) has secured another contract to upgrade the water treatment plant at an antimony processing facility in Oman.
In January this year, Clean TeQ was awarded a contract to upgrade the plant. Changes in the upstream antimony processing facility caused a higher salt load and increased arsenic, antimony and selenium concentrations in the wastewater. The upgrade has focused on neutralising the wastewater for easier recovery and disposal.
Now, Clean TeQ has received a further $1 million to undertake the procurement of the plant and equipment required for the upgrade.
In late 2019, Clean TeQ was engaged by Multotec, the Company’s sales and delivery partner in Africa, to design, procure and construct the wastewater treatment system in Oman.
The water treatment plant comprises the company’s DesalX technology, chemical precipitation and reverse osmosis to recycle water for re-use on site. The water treatment plant is designed to remove a range of harmful elements from up to 200 tons of wastewater per day.
Consequently, the customer is able to recycle a significant proportion of the
water for re-use in their processing plant, rather than disposing of it.
Clean Teq says re-using water is particularly important for the customer in Oman, where water is relatively scarce.
Further, the company says recycling the water results in environmental benefits by significantly reducing the volume of waste which would otherwise need to be disposed of.
