Clean TeQ (ASX:CNQ) secures option to acquire rapid dewatering technology

Clean TeQ Water (CNQ) has secured the option to acquire rapid dewatering technology to solve mining waste issues.

The company executed an exclusive global technology licence agreement with Soane Labs to use its ATA technology, which will allow it to purchase the technology within 18 months of signing.

During this period, Clean TeQ will conduct due diligence on technology by initiating a pilot-scale demonstration to validate the performance and economics of the technology.

The ATA technology was developed as a mine-tailings treatment to rapidly separate water and solids to produce stackable tailings and recycled water.

The company said the technology presents an enormous market opportunity to address dewatering environmental concerns facing many mine sites.

CNQ CEO William Vriesendorp said the agreement will allow the company to provide new solutions in mine waste management.

“Licensing the ATA technology complements our existing strategy of identifying technologies that apply low-cost solutions to address large-scale problems and with a minimal energy footprint,” he said.

Shares were trading 5.98 per cent higher today at 62 cents each at 2:26 pm AEST.
