ClearVue Technologies (CPV) has announced the retirement of Founder and Executive Chair Victor Rosenberg.

The long-time Executive Chair will formally leave the company on March 15, 2023, but will continue as a Non-Executive Director.

Upon Mr Rosenberg’s retirement, current Non-Executive Director John Downes will be appointed as Non-Executive Chair.

Since early 2021, Mr Downes has served as the Global Head of Façade Supply Chain at LendLease, based in London. He brings three decades of experience in glazing and façade systems and construction management to the new position on the ClearVue board.

“Victor has made an enormous contribution to the success of ClearVue, and his drive and vision have put the company in the position where it is today,” Mr Downes said.

“We thank Victor for his outstanding service and commitment to the company and wish him the very best in his retirement. I am sure all shareholders will join me in a vote of thanks at our upcoming AGM,” he added.

ClearVue is now looking for a CEO and, if it doesn’t appoint one by March 15, current COO Jamie Lyford will be appointed interim CEO until a permanent CEO is found.

In other news, the smart building materials company has begun testing its photovoltaic (PV) glazing product at the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Skylab facility in Singapore.

The BCA Skylab allows companies to complete studies in “real-world” conditions so they can accurately measure energy performance and environmental parameters.

The 132-square-metre Skylab facility sits on top of a seven-storey building and has a 360-degree rotatable platform that allows technologies to be tested at different building orientations.

ClearVue’s aim for the testing is to evaluate the energy, thermal, visual and building-integrated PV performance so it can achieve Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) certification and for potential developers within Singapore and across South East Asia.

“BCA Skylab testing is itself a prerequisite to sales to government in Singapore — the government being the largest property owner and developer in that country. We look forward to sharing the results of the testing in coming months,” Outgoing Chairperson Victor Rosenberg said.

Subject to weather permitting, the company expects testing to be complete by the end of the March 2023 quarter.

Lastly, ClearVue said phase two of the US Air Force Evaluation is now nearing completion, with a final report due for delivery in the March 2023 quarter.

The company and its collaboration partner, Nodis, are now determining manufacturing approaches to enable the US Air Force to purchase TruTint Power Windows (Nodis’ TruTint smart glass combined with and powered by ClearVue’s PV-integrated glazing units) under phase three.

CPV shares were up 2.78 per cent to trade at 18.5 cents at 3:01 pm AEDT.
