Great Western identified the Juggernaut target in October 2024.

Great Western Exploration (ASX:GTE) is preparing to drill six copper-gold targets at Juggernaut within the Yerrida North project in Western Australia. Juggernaut was identified in October CY24 through an extensive field program with rock-chip sampling, recording significant silver, lead, zinc, and copper results.

The mapped rock units Great Western is looking at are part of the Killara Formation, determined by previous studies to be the equivalent of the DeGrussa Formation, which hosts the DeGrussa and Monty copper-gold VHMS deposits.

The six targets, Seymour, Falconer, Howard, Palmer, Smith and Archer, are scheduled for drilling from March. Juggernaut’s prime candidates are Seymour and Howard, which returned significant rock-chip results in October.

The Palmer, Smith and Archer targets are located within a significant interpreted north-south trending major regional structure.

The Falconer target sits within a copper lag-soil anomaly.

Individual targets will be tested following the drilling of Oval’s copper-gold targets.

Earlier this month, Great Western announced it had received all permits to allow drill testing of a potentially large VHMS copper-gold mineralisation system at the Oval copper-gold target at Yerrida North.

A diamond drill-hole to test the extensive gravity anomaly has been designed to be drilled to 750 metres. Great Western has now engaged its preferred drill contractor.

Earlier, a previous ground gravity survey and subsequent data modelling completed at Oval defined a gravitational anomaly coincident with the geologically modelled position of a highly prospective VHMS horizon.

That specific anomaly sits parallel to the Geoscience of Western Australia’s (GSWA) interpreted Yerrida Basin Growth Fault that is intersected at the anomaly’s position by the extensive Ida Fault.

GTE shares are 1.8c today.
