Cosmos Exploration (C1X) is about to commence a maiden helicopter-assisted rock-sampling lithium exploration program in the James Bay district, Quebec.

The program will test target areas over the company’s Corvette Far East project (CFE) and its Lasalle lithium project, which lies near Patriot Battery Metals’ (PMT) world-class CV5 lithium discovery.

Cosmos has chosen a Quebec-based company, Laurentienne Scientifique, to undergo final preparations for the mobilisation of equipment to the site, where spodumene-bearing pegmatite will be the aim of the search.

“We are pleased to announce the commencement of our summer exploration program with helicopter-supported sampling about to begin across the high-priority targets we have generated over our two key James Bay projects,” C1X Executive Chairman Jeremy Robinson said.

At CFE, four new large, high-priority target areas for lithium-bearing minerals were identified utilising newly acquired remote sensing and physical techniques.

Meanwhile, three additional new and significant high-priority target areas for lithium-bearing minerals were recently identified at Cosmos’s Lasalle lithium project.

These targets will be the focus of the upcoming program which is anticipated to last a nine-day period, managed by Laurentienne Scientifique.

C1X shares were up 16.2 per cent, trading at 43 cents at 11:11 am AEST.
