Critical Resources (CRR) has received assays for the first diamond drill hole completed at its wholly-owned Gibsons prospect.

The prospect is part of the Halls Peak project near Armidale in New South Wales, and drilling is being conducted to confirm near surface mineralisation as well as deeper targets.

According to Critical, the assays have confirmed the first drill hole of the 2500-metre program intersected multiple stacked lodes of massive sulphide mineralisation with “extremely high grades” of zinc, lead, copper, silver and gold.

CRRDD21_01 returned 12.45 metres at 10.91 per cent zinc, 5.73 per cent lead, 1.15 per cent copper, 331.63 grams per tonne (g/t) silver and 1.5 g/t gold. This interval includes 4.05 metres at 19.31 per cent zinc, 10.23 per cent lead, 2.12 per cent copper, 549.68 g/t silver and 1.89 g/t gold.

Additional grades the company was pleased with include 22 per cent zinc, 11.85 per cent lead, 3.84 per cent copper and 1750 g/t silver.

Managing Director Alex Briggs said the results were exceptional.

“We are delighted with the first round of results from drilling at Gibsons and are excited to continue our work program across the entire Halls Peak project,” he said.

“Exceptional results such as these prove to us that the Halls Peak project is a heavily mineralised system that warrants significant exploration.”

The company will continue to progress the 14-hole drilling program and expects to conduct 1700 metres of drilling at the Sunnyside prospect once drilling has wrapped up at Gibsons.

CRR shares were up 22.6 per cent to trade at 7.6 cents at 11:50 am AEDT.
