Critical Resources (CRR) has uncovered a new area of mineralisation at the Gibsons prospect within its Halls Peak project in New South Wales.

The latest assay results come from Hole 14, which is the 12th hole completed as part of the company’s most recent drilling campaign.

This drill hole was completed in a previously un-tested area, to the north-east of previous drilling and has intersected zinc, lead, copper and silver bearing zones of sulphide mineralisation.

The pick of the results was a 26.7-metre intersection grading 3.4 per cent zinc, 1.9 per cent lead and 10.7 grams per tonne (g/t) silver from 75 metres downhole, which included 7.2 metres at just over 9 per cent zinc, 5.2 per cent lead and 23.5 g/t silver.

Critical also noted highly anomalous gold between 248 and 267.5 metres downhole, including 4.42 g/t gold over two metres from 261.5 metres.

These results follow on from those reported last week from two-step out holes which intersected further zinc, lead, copper and silver-bearing zones of sulphide mineralisation.

In April, the company announced it would be expanding its drilling campaign at Halls Peak with 1700 metres of diamond drilling approved for the Sunnyside prospect, located 1.5 kilometres north-west of Gibsons.

Managing Director Alex Biggs said the results to date in combination with previous exploration and geophysical survey work warrant the company’s expansion plans.

“We are consistently finding these new areas of mineralisation at depth and along strike that further adds to the potential scale of the Halls Peak system,” Mr Biggs said.

“We are excited to soon commence drilling at our Sunnyside prospect that was home to old time small-scale, high-grade mine workings.”

Meanwhile, the company is awaiting results from drill holes 15, 16 and 17 completed at Gibsons.

CRR shares were up 3.8 per cent, trading at 8.2 cents at 10:58 am AEST.
