Cullen Resources (CUL) has completed aircore drilling at its Barlee project in Western Australia.

The Barlee Project is considered to be a “greenfield” project area that covers 450 square kilometres extending from 10 to 55 kilometres south-southeast of the Penny Gold deposit and the Youanmi greenstone belt towards the northwest portion of the Marda-Diemals greenstone belt.

The reconnaissance aircore drilling included 54 holes, for roughly 2100 metres, and aimed to confirm the presence of interpreted prospective greenstone stratigraphy, lithologies and preliminary bedrock geochemistry.

Assays from the program included six parts per billion gold, 0.45 parts per million (ppm) silver, 133ppm lead and 987ppm nickel in four-metre composites.

Cullen said the results were ‘highly encouraging’ considering the wide-spacing of the drill holes.

The company will carry out follow-up exploration following heritage clearances and access development. Drilling will target high-grade gold lodes and focus on sheared greenstone-granite contacts.

It has also recently completed soil sampling to the north of the project and assays are pending.

Company shares were trading steady at 1.7 cents at 1:07 pm AEDT.
