Culpeo Minerals (ASX: CPO) has kicked off its maiden diamond drilling campaign at the Vista Montana Prospect in Chile, testing a largely untested extension of the mineralised system at its Lana Corina Project.

The initial programme comprises four diamond holes for 2,000 metres, with the first hole, CMVMD001, planned to reach around 600 metres depth.
Vista Montana sits about 1km north-east of the Lana Corina copper-molybdenum discovery and forms part of the same north-northeast trending structural corridor, which extends for more than 3km.
The company’s previous drilling at Lana Corina has demonstrated the scale of the broader mineralised system, including 454m at 0.96% CuEq from 90m.
Alongside drilling, Culpeo has started a high-resolution TITAN DCIP induced polarisation survey across the Lana Corina and Vista Montana corridor. Six east-west lines covering 9.6 line kilometres are planned at Vista Montana, with a further 1.8km line across Lana Corina.
Two of the Vista Montana lines have already been completed, with the full survey expected to wrap up in mid-September and results to follow shortly after.
The geophysical work is designed to map resistivity and chargeability at depths of more than 500 metres, helping the company identify concealed sulphide mineralisation and refine targets for follow-up drilling.
Culpeo said the Vista Montana programme could be extended depending on geological observations and initial drilling results, giving the company an opportunity to build on the first four hole campaign if the system continues to show scale and continuity.
