Dart Mining (DTM) has identified lithium pegmatite targets at the Dorchap lithium project in Victoria.
Earlier this year the company conducted regional sampling which identified targets for drilling. They include the Eagle, Fergussons and Blairs dykes within the Dorchap Range and the Bluejacket dyke at Glen Wills.
The Eagle dyke extends for 550 metres and is 80 metres wide. It returned a channel sample of 10 metres at 0.95 per cent lithium dioxide.
The Fergussons and Blairs dykes also host spodumene mineralisation as well as the Bluejacket dyke which returned 16 metres at 530 parts per million (ppm) caesium oxide, 0.32 per cent lithium dioxide and 104ppm tantalum pentoxide.
Dart Mining also discovered the Boones, Gosport and Scrubby dykes which demonstrated spodumene and petalite lithium mineralisation. These targets were found away from existing access and will therefore require more extensive planning and preparation to begin drilling.
Significantly, the mineralisation style identified within the project remains untested and comprises the only lithium prospects identified so far in Victoria.
The company plans to drill up to 15 holes, for around 1500 metres, to test the depth and extent of the lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) mineralised dykes. Drilling will take place in the upcoming summer 2021-2022 field season.
Dart’s shares are up 12.5 per cent to trade at 13.5 cents at 2:42 pm AEDT.
