US gold developer Dateline Resources (DTR) has begun drilling at the Gold Links Gold Mine in Colorado.

An underground drilling contractor will complete 4000 metres of diamond core drilling to further assess the West and 2150 veins.

Both veins are known to host high-grade gold mineralisation with the West vein intersecting 0.98 metres at 30.2 grams of gold per tonne (g/t) and 61g/t silver.

Dateline expects drilling to take between five to six months to complete with a decision to mine to be made in H2 2021.

The company is also progressing the access roads to the upper levels of Gold Links to provide year-round access at the project.

During this work geologists have identified multiple quartz veins which represent repetitions of the high-grade zones in the underground workings.

These quartz veins are now being mapped and sampled to confirm if they represents new targets for assessment.

Managing Director Stephen Baghdadi says the company is ready to begin exploration activities.

“There is a sense of excitement at Gold Links with a full complement of mining contractor, drilling contractor and geological teams working well together,” Mr Baghdadi said.

“We have a clear strategy to define sufficient mineral resource to commence high-grade mining at Gold Links and processing the ore through our wholly-owned Lucky Strike mill located 50 kilometres away.”

Dateline was steady on the market with shares trading at 10.5 cents at 12:01 pm AEST.
