Water and wastewater treatment company De.mem (DEM) has won a $550,000 contract from AGL Energy (AGL).

Under the contract, De.mem will deliver water treatment equipment to an Australian power station.

This contract win follows on from the $400,000 contract DEM received in September last year from an unnamed customer.

That contract saw the company deliver a membrane-based water treatment system to generate power.

De.mem has stated that the power generation industry is an important market as it requires large volumes of treated water for use in boilers, cooling towers and turbines.

Treated water is also required for the production of hydrogen which allows additional growth for De.mem.

“We are delighted to be growing our presence in the highly attractive Australian power generation segment with high quality institutional clients,” CEO Andreas Kroell said.

“The power generation industry is an important target market for De.mem as it requires large volumes of the highest quality treated water for use in boilers, turbines and cooling towers,” he added.

De.mem is up 3.13 per cent on the market and shares are trading at 33 cents at 1:15 pm AEDT.
