Delecta (DLC) has restarted exploration at its REX Uranium Project in Montrose County, Colorado.

The project consists of 256 continuous BLM claims covering an area of 2702 hectares.

Uranium mineralisation has been confirmed within four historical uranium mines which have not been subject to modern exploration.

Mapping and sampling is now underway of the historical uranium oxide mineralisation to generate targets for upcoming core drilling.

Work will be undertaken by an RS-230 gamma-ray spectrometer to provide real-time analysis of triuranium octoxide to speed-up fieldwork.

Work is expected to be completed by the end of the year, with drill targeting and permitting to follow.

Additionally, samples from previous programs are pending due to ALS Global in Reno rejecting them as radiation limits exceed laboratory thresholds.

Managing Director Malcolm Day commented on the upcoming work.

“With initial sampling programs returning encouraging results, including high levels of naturally occurring radioactive materials, the company is accelerating drill targeting and formative work on structural and geological modelling for the upcoming field season,” Mr Day said.

“With this new knowledge, we look forward to seeing the positive results continue.”

Shares in Delecta were down 10 per cent on the market and were trading at 1.8 cents at 11:17 am AEDT.
