Delta Drone International (DLT) will expand its enterprise mining operations into Mali to deliver its light detection and ranging (LIDAR) services.

Delta Drone provides aerial surveying and mapping, security and surveillance through a fully outsourced service using artificial intelligence.

Under the $25,000 agreement, Delta’s dedicated enterprise mining brand, Rocketmine, will provide drone services to Barrick Gold, a subsidiary of gold mining company Barrick Gold Corporation.

Through a fleet of mining-specific drones and expert mining pilots, LIDAR capabilities will be deployed to examine mining site expansion options in the region. The week-long operation will deliver the data required for Barrick Gold to make a decision, while Barrick continues to focus on its day-to-day mining operations.

Rocketmine will also manage the necessary requirements by Mali’s local civil aviation authority, Agence Nationale de l’Aviation Civil, to ensure all services conducted on the site are compliant.

“The addition of Mali to our growing global footprint speaks to the knowledge and value our team of mining experts at Rocketmine provide our customers,” Delta Drone International CEO Christopher Clark said.

“We look forward to starting our partnership with Barrick Gold and showing them the magnitude of ways that drones can enhance operations in the enterprise mining sector.”

Delta Drone International was up 4.55 per cent, trading at 2.3 cents at 3:45 pm AEST.
