DevEx Resources (DEV) has seen shallow gold intercepts following reconnaissance drilling at its Nangus Road prospect.

The prospect is situated within the company’s Junee copper-gold project in New South Wales.

Wide-spaced reconnaissance drilling comprising both air-core and diamond drilling has identified near-surface gold mineralisation with grades of up to 27.2 grams per tonne (g/t) gold across one metre from 142 metres down hole.

Drilling also hit an eight metre intersection grading 1.1 g/t from 40 metres down hole.

The latest results follow air-core drilling completed earlier this year which returned four metres at 5.9 g/t.

Although the drilling program is ongoing and there are assay results yet to be received, the company’s Managing Director Brendan Bradley said the intercepts so far show a one-kilometre-long north-south trend.

“We are excited to see significant shallow gold intercepts starting to show a clear
north-south gold-copper trend at Nangus Road,” Mr Bradley said.

“These results, together with the presence of a large hydrothermal system, demonstrate excellent potential to host significant mineralisation.”

DevEx is now planning reverse circulation drilling to follow up the results.

Company shares last traded at 33.5 cents on June 6.
