Downer EDI’s (DOW) subsidiary, Spotless Facilities Services has been awarded a $630 million contract from the South Australian Housing Authority.

The seven year contract will see the company provide maintenance services for 27,000 social and public housing dwellings in the Adelaide metropolitan area.

This includes plumbing, electrical, roofing and painting, as well as refurbishment and upgrade works.

Work is scheduled to commence from January next year.

CEO Grant Fenn said the contract win demonstrates the company’s ability as a leading social housing maintenance services provider.

“This contract further expands our footprint in the sector across Australia and New Zealand, and will increase our investment and capability in South Australia,” he said.

“We look forward to working closely with the SA Housing Authority to provide these vital services for the people of South Australia.”

Shares were trading 0.82 per cent lower at $4.85 each at market close.
