Dreadnought Resources (DRE) has commenced a 12 hole, 1550-metre reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Illaara Gold-VMS Project.

Illaara is located 190 kilometres from Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. It comprises seven tenements that cover over 75 kilometres of strike along the entire Illaara Greenstone Belt.

Drilling will initially focus on the Rodney, Warspite, Bismarck and Reindler’s volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) targets and will include six holes for 1100 metres. All targets contain outcropping gossans and conductive electromagnetic (EM) plates.

Drilling will then proceed to Metzke’s Find, which will include six holes for 450 metres. Drilling is designed to infill 250 metres of strike beneath the deepest workings associated with a bend in the mineralised structure where previous drilling intersected two metres at 6.8 g/t gold and four metres at 1.9 g/t gold.

“Dreadnought is excited to commence this high impact drilling program. Six EM plates with coincident outcropping gossans will be drilled along with holes beneath the deepest workings and coincident structural bend at the Metzke’s Find,” Managing Director Dean Tuck said.

Once the drilling program is completed, Dreadnought will proceed with further target definition work within the Illaara Central Corridor, Metzke’s Corridor, Eastern and Western VMS Horizons and at Rocky Dam. This will then be followed by additional RC drilling in July and August 2020.

“Dreadnought looks forward to continuing to define and test targets at the Illaara Gold-VMS Project,” Dean added.

Drilling is expected to take between two to three weeks and assay results are expected in July this year.
