Dreadnought Resources (DRE) has intersected further thick nickel-copper mineralisation at its Mangaroon project in Western Australia.

The company recently completed an RC drilling operation at the Bookathanna North and High Range prospects, both situated along the Money Intrusion, spanning approximately 45 kilometres in size.

Dreadnought drilled 10 holes for a combined length of 1074 metres. Downhole electromagnetic imaging will commence later this month, following an earlier EM scan that provided the geotech team with its targets for the September drilling campaign.

These initial targets have proven fruitful, with the company intersecting a 14-metre thick section featuring visible nickel-copper sulphides scattered throughout. First-stage visual inspections of core materials confirm this discovery.

While these visual observations are less reliable than fully certified assay tests, they indicate the presence of mineralisation across approximately 400 metres of strike, and it remains open in all directions. The Mangaroon project also overlies the Mangaroon Shear Zone.

The evidence strongly suggests the presence of a substantial mineral system potentially underground at Mangaroon.

Another hole intersected a 27-metre thick section also visually identified to contain sulphides.

Based on these latest discoveries, the company plans to “reassess” the entire intrusion as imaging technology is deployed above ground to search for deeper targets.

Assays are expected to be gradually received throughout September and October, with the next round of downhole EM data due next month.

It’s worth noting that these current exploration activities are fully funded by TSX-listed First Quantum Minerals, which seeks to earn in on specific parts of Mangaroon.

Dreadnought recently redirected its focus from rare earths (REEs), which had dominated its attention throughout most of 2023, back to base metals at Mangaroon.

“This program has been a major leap forward confirming massive and semi-massive sulphides within thick halos of disseminated and net textured sulphides at a marginal trap site within the Money Intrusion,” DRE Managing Director Dean Tuck said.

“For the past two years, the work programs at the Money Intrusion have focused on confirming the fertility, high tenor and potential to form sulphide accumulations … for the past two years, the work programs at the Money Intrusion have focused on confirming the fertility, high tenor and potential to form sulphide accumulations.”

DRE shares last traded at 5.4 cents.
