DroneShield (DRO) has received an initial order for its DroneGun Tactical product under the European Union Police Framework Agreement.

The deal was signed in May last year after the Belgium Police carried out the selection process for a suitable product to help police track down the operator of a drone of interest.

While the process was run by the Belgium Police, DroneGun Tactical is intended to be used all over Europe.

DroneShield manufactured the DroneGun Tactical product to provide a safe countermeasure against a wide range of unmanned aircraft system (UAS) threats, such as drones, with no damage to common UAS models or surrounding environments.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic caused delays in mobilising initial orders since the agreement was made.

“While this initial purchase is small at approximately $100,000, it represents the first purchase under what we expect to be a multi-million dollar agreement supplying DroneGuns and associated counter-UAS products across dismounted, vehicle and fixed site range, to police forces across E.U.,” DroneShield CEO Oleg Vornik said.

DroneShield is up 2.86 per cent and shares are trading at 18 cents at market close.
