E2 Metals (E2M) has found a new zone of shallow high-grade silver mineralisation at the Emilia prospect within Conserrat gold and silver project in Argentina.

Emilia was initially identified as a drill target after rock chip sampling uncovered 16.4 grams per tonne of gold and 981g/t of silver.

The new silver zone was found during a five-hole drilling program at the prospect.

The program unearthed intercepts of 9.5 metres at 375g/t of silver and 0.4g/t of gold from 49 metres, including two metres at 630g/t of silver, 0.5g/t of gold from 49 metres.

E2 believes these results further confirm Conserrat to be an exciting new epithermal vein district located within a well-known gold and silver mining province.

Managing Director Todd Williams is pleased with these results.

“The recent results from Emilia are significant not only because it is a new discovery for the project, but it also underpins the potential for high-grade mineralisation elsewhere within the Veta Blanca-Emilia vein corridor that extends for over 2.5 kilometres strike and remains poorly tested by drilling,” he said.

“Importantly, mineralisation is hosted within a ‘blind’ structure that is adjacent to the main topographic ridge under shallow colluvium cover, confirming what we already suspected – the best-mineralised veins at Conserrat may not be the most obvious ones,” he added.

A drill rig will be on its way to Emilia to follow up on the high-grade intersections.

On the market this afternoon, E2 is up 26.9 per cent and is trading at 33 cents per share at 2:04 pm AEST.
