Eastern Resources (EFE) has received “significant” lithium soil results from sampling work at its Trigg Hill project in East Pilbara, Western Australia.

The company undertook an initial soil sampling program in April and May as its first-stage assessment over the Curlew East pegmatite swarm in the area.

Soil samples from the East Curlew area returned strong anomalous lithium, tantalum and tin results, with soil results of up to 517 parts per million (ppm) lithium oxide, 95 ppm tantalum pentoxide and 922 ppm tin oxide.

Eastern said the results from the sampling work had been successful in defining areas on which to focus for detailed mapping and rock chip sampling.

“We are very pleased with the results from this initial soil sampling program at Trigg Hill. The East Curlew LCT pegmatite swarm appears to be much larger than originally anticipated, with strong geochemistry over a large area,” EFE Executive Director Myles Fang said.

“The proposed initial drill program will provide information on pegmatite density, orientation and mineralogy.”

The company has planned a 2000-metre reverse circulation drilling program for the area, with additional mapping programs also planned to expand on the initial soil sampling program in the coming months.

Shares in Eastern Resources were up 8.93 per cent to three cents per share at 11:40 am AEST.
