EcoGraf (EGR) has noted compelling results from pre-construction locked-cycle testing of its HF-free carbon purification process.

The testing was commissioned by GR Engineering Services to provide data for detailed engineering design works for the Kwinana Battery Anode Materials Facility in WA.

Results confirmed that the HF-free processing, which doesn’t use hydrofluoric acid, effectively removes impurities from flake graphite feedstock to deliver high-purity battery anode materials.

EcoGraf product carbon purities achieved 99.97 per cent for tested feedstock, confirming the effectiveness of the purification process.

Manager of Engineering at GR Engineering Ryan Kriedemann says these results are very encouraging.

“Mass balance analysis data was also very good and so we’ll evaluate the potential to reduce the level of reagent used in the EcoGraf process, which will deliver operational efficiency benefits for the new facility,” he said.

This data is now being used by GR Engineering to complete a detailed engineering design in the preparation for constructing the facility.

On the market this morning, EcoGraf is up 3.17 per cent and is trading at 65 cents per share at 10:49 am AEST.
