EcoGraf (EGR) has received electrochemical results for its preferred feed materials at its Kwinana graphite facility.

The electrochemical testwork was conducted to determine the electrochemical performance of each feed material and understand what would help increase the intelligence and performance of each product.

The testwork was conducted by a leading German research institute, who specialise in the major battery and electric vehicle industry.

EcoGraf found that feed materials perform differently, with some sources performing better under different conditions, which therefore enhances product performance.

Demand for battery graphite supply is increasing in Europe, North East Asia and among U.S. supply chain customers.

“EcoGraf battery graphite products are positioned as leading supply alternatives to existing supply from China,” the company said.

Recently, EcoGraf signed a 10-year sales agreement with German tech giant, thyssenkrupp Materials Trading.

Under the agreement, EcoGraf will sell its purified spherical graphite (SpG) battery anode material and by-product from the Kwinana facility.

EcoGraf is up 4.55 per cent on the market today and is trading for 6.9 cents each at 12:39 pm AEST.
