Eden Innovations (EDE) has received its first significant order for EdenCrete for use in swimming pool finishing concrete mixes in Texas.

The order is worth $416,050 and comes from Modern Method Gunite in Houston, the US swimming pool contractor that conducted the first trial in February.

This order of EdenCrete will be supplied in four shipments over the next six to nine months and should enable the finishing of roughly five per cent of the estimated annual US market of exposed aggregate swimming pool finishes.

A recently completed trial improved pumping, placing and finishing, and reduced waste in the finishing process.

EdenCrete is a carbon nanotube mixture that is used to improve the tensile and flexural strength of concrete without compromising corrosion and strength resistance.

Once added to the concrete mixture, the nanotubes fill the microscopic spaces between the cement particles. This does not leave openings, allowing now water to get it.

When the concrete has dried and set, the nanotubes create millions of strong and flexible carbon bridges throughout the structure.

Since EdenCrete’s first trials in Georgia and Texas, further successful trials have taken place in Florida, California, Arizona and North Carolina.

Shares in Eden were up 5.88 per cent on the market and were trading at 1.8 cents at 1:18 pm AEDT.
