Electric Optic Systems (EOS) has been awarded $20 million worth of contracts with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) over the last month.

EOS develops and manufactures remotely-operated weapon systems (RWS) from ultra-lightweight to heavy-duty stabilised platforms. Its RWS technology allows operators to gain accurate and wide-area imagery of the battlespace and deliver precise target engagement from behind protection.

The contracts include advanced technology research and development activities in electro-optic sensors, its subsidiary, EM Solutions’ Cobra terminals and sustainment.

Specifically, EM Solutions’ Cobra terminals contracts have been signed for the next three shipsets of the Royal Australian Navy’s SEA1180 program for Offshore Patrol Vessels and the SEA1445 program for Enhanced Cape Class Patrol Boats.

The sustainment part of the contract involves supporting the currently installed Cobra terminal population that the Royal Australian Navy uses over the next 12 months.

EM Solutions claims its Cobra satellite terminals affordably combine robust, resilient design and military standard quality with a state-of-the-art antenna feed for simultaneous operations.

EOS Group CEO, Dr Ben Greene, was pleased to have secured the contracts.

“We are delighted to be extending our relationship with the ADF across a range of activities within EOS. The Commonwealth of Australia recognises the ability of sovereign industry in Australia to deliver vital capability for the ADF and we look forward to further collaboration in the future.”

The contracts will be delivered over the next 24 months under standard payment terms. The company expects these contract will positively impact revenues in 2022.

Company shares were up 3.46 per cent and trading at $4.19 at 1:09 pm AEST.
