Elementos (ELT) has confirmed major extensions to the Battery Tin-Copper Lode and the Foley’s Tungsten Zone at its Cleveland tin project in Tasmania.

The latest results come from hole C2119, which was drilled to a depth of 300 metres and targeted an untested zone between the northeast and southwest limbs of historical underground mine workings and the current JORC mineral resource.

Drilling intersected an extension to the Battery Lode from a depth of 64.25 metres for a strike of 3.7 metres.

This extension lies roughly 160 metres above a zone of tin, copper and tungsten mineralisation delineated by a historic drill hole that intersected 10.3 metres at 0.26 per cent tin, 0.09 per cent copper and 0.13 per cent tungsten.

Hole C2119 was extended beyond the Battery Lode to test for potential extensions in an untested zone above the Foley’s mineral resource and exploration target.

Notably, a significant zone of open quartz veining with visible wolframite and silica, muscovite and sericite alteration was intersected.

Overall, hole C2119 returned a tungsten intercept of 14.2 metres at 0.36 per cent tungsten from 221 metres and a tin-copper intercept of 3.85 metres at 1.05 per cent tin and 0.28 per cent copper from 64.25 metres.

Following these results, a further 59 samples have been taken from C2119 and sent for additional analysis.

The company’s Managing Director Joe David marked the results as a “significant development” at the Cleveland project.

“We’ve shown further mineralisation exists, close to the current resource, closer to the surface and in very close proximity to historical underground mine production drives.

“Our four-hole drill campaign is now complete ahead of more assays to follow.”

Moving forward, the company plans to undertake downhole geophysical surveys and further geological interpretation before designing a follow-up drill program.

Elementos was down 2.08 per cent on the market with shares trading at 47 cents at 15:24 pm AEST.
