Elsight (ELS) has received an initial order from Speedbird Aero, a leading Brazil-based comprehensive unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) services provider, for its Halo solution.

The Halo solution will provide Speedbird with a reliable, uninterrupted bonded connectivity solution for command-and-control redundancy certification and critical and secure data transmission.

This will ensure the ability to control drones beyond the visual line of sight (BVLOS), a crucial test that needs absolute connection confidence and security to the company’s commercial drone parcel deliveries and operations.

The contract has a minimum value of US$72,000 (A$106,000) for 2022 with the potential to be valued at up to US$520,000 during calendar year 2023 which is when the contract term ends.

Elsight CEO Yoav Amitai said the contract continues to confirm the success of the company’s design-win strategy and the growth implications within the extended drone industry.

“We are delighted to have been chosen as a partner by Speedbird as they leverage Halo’s connectivity solution, ensuring complete connection confidence to their entire drone fleet for commercial deliveries,” Mr Amitai said.

“Just as Speedbird has begun to rapidly expand and is expected to continue their growth exponentially, Elsight looks forward to similar orders with growing scale from additional partners, both large and small, in similar circumstances.”

Speedbird is the first customer to be offered Elsight’s Halo-as-a-Service pricing model.

Shares in Elsight were up 1.37 per cent, trading at 37 cents as of 1:23 pm AEST.
