Emmerson Resources (ERM) has intersected visual copper at the Hermitage prospect in its Tennant Creek project, Northern Territory.

Hole HERCDD005 intersected a new 38-metre interval of mineralisation consisting of malachite, native copper and chalcopyrite-bornite.

The mineralisation occurs 38 metres downhole and is hosted within a brecciated hematite-quartz-jasper ironstone with malachite.

The latest hole from the program, HERCDD006, intersected a 57-metre interval of mineralisation consisting of native copper, malachite and chalcopyrite from 127 metres downhole.

The mineralisation is also hosted in brecciated hematite-quartz-jasper ironstone with intermittent intervals of chlorite-hematite.

These visual estimates are only approximates, Emmerson said, and accurate values will be reported once the assays have been returned from the lab. This is currently slated for late June.

In any case, Emmerson Managing Director Rob Bills said the first few drill holes at the Hermitage prospect confirmed the “very high-grade” nature of copper mineralisation in the area.

“HERCDD005 intersected an entirely new zone of malachite, chalcopyrite and possible bornite mineralisation, that is relatively shallow and some 40 metres outside of the central ironstone,” Mr Bills said.

“We look forward to the assay results, particularly for the gold and cobalt which, because of their small grain size, cannot be visually seen or estimated.”

Emmerson was down 8.08 per cent on the market with shares trading at 9.1 cents at 11:27 am AEST.
