Empire Resources (ERL) has intersected 30 metres of massive sulphides in hole YDD22-02 which was drilled at the Smiths Well prospect within the Yuinmery project in WA.

The diamond hole was designed to target a strong conductor modelled from downhole electromagnetic (DHEM) surveys completed last month.

The massive to disseminated pyrrhotite-chalcopyrite-pyrite sulphides were intersected from 276.1 metres downhole.

According to Empire, the intercept lies within an interpreted mafic-ultramafic sequence
that includes coarse grained gabbroic rocks with very coarse grained domains, dolerite, basalt and ultramafic lithologies.

The company collected samples which have been sent for chemical analysis and will also collect petrographic samples for rock and mineralogy classification.

Empire plans to drill another hole at the Smiths Well prospect to test the northeast limits of the modelled conductor.

Outside of Smiths Well, a single diamond hole is planned to be drilled at the Constantine prospect where anomalous nickel and platinum group metal values were observed via historical and recent drilling.

Company shares ended the day trading steady at 1.2 cents.
