Encounter Resources (ENR) has commenced diamond drilling at its Yeneena project in Western Australia’s Paterson Province.

The drilling campaign is aimed to target sediment-hosted copper at its Lookout Rocks prospect, testing the down-plunge position of known mineralisation.

Previous diamond drilling at the site intersected mineralisation with copper grades of up to one per cent highlighting the potential for significant copper deposits in the area.

The project is being funded by IGO (IGO) under a $15 million earn-in agreement.

From now until September, Encounter plans to complete a comprehensive exploration program of the entire project including the completion of five diamond drill holes covering a distance of 2900 meters and 26 aircore holes spanning 2600 meters.

Results from the drilling programs are planned for release in December.

Encounter Resources last traded at 38 cents.
