  • Equus Mining (EQE) gets high-grade drill results from a newly-defined structure that extends below the Taitao Pit within the Cerro Bayo project in Chile
  • Results included grades of up to 46.67 g/t gold equivalent in one hole and up tp 24.1 g/t gold equivalent in another
  • Interestingly, the high-grade mineralisation was intersected outside the maiden inferred resource area which demonstrates good continuity
  • Drilling at the Taitao Pit is ongoing to test the down-dip extension of the structure at depth, east of the Taitao Pit, and below the underground component of the resource
  • Company shares have ended the day 5.56 per cent in the green at 19 cents

Equus Mining (EQE) has received high-grade drill results from a newly-defined, large scale feeder host fault structure that extends below the historical Taitao Pit.

The 1.4-kilometre long Taitao Pit is one of the target areas within the 295-square kilometre Cerro Bayo Mine District in Chile.

Better results include 7.5 metres at 8.7 g/t gold equivalent from 86.08 metres including 2.47 metres at 24.1 g/t gold equivalent from 87.87 metres in hole CBD085.

This intercept reportedly represents the interpreted southern extension to the high-grade vein-breccia intersected in previous hole CBD082 which is located about 40 metres north.

Results from CBD083 include 0.73 metres at 31.71 g/t gold equivalent from 117.12 metres including 0.49 metres at 46.67 g/t gold equivalent from 117.36 metres.

Drill hole CBD083 intersected multiple mineralised structures that correspond to veins and breccias that developed in the upper hanging wall relative to the main fault-breccia complex target.

Equus said the latest results come from an area previously interpreted as a localised low-grade stockwork zone. This zone wasn’t included in the underground resource portion of the Taitao Pit’s maiden inferred mineral resource estimate (MRE).

“These further high-grade results serve to demonstrate good continuity of the large, newly defined host structure and its capacity to host exceptional gold and silver mineralisation,” COO Damien Koerber said.

Equus is currently drilling a 500-metre section of the host fault complex which extends from CBD082 south towards plant infrastructure.

The program is testing the down-dip extension of the structure at depth, east of the Taitao Pit, and below the underground resource component of the maiden MRE.

Drilling is also targeting a potential down dip extension of high-grade mineralisation intersected in historical shallow drilling.

Company shares ended Friday’s session 5.56 per cent in the green at 19 cents.
