Online tournament platform Esports Mogul (ESH) will improve its Fortnite tournaments by adopting custom matchmaking.

Custom matchmaking means users can create private matches and choose their competitors — meaning random opponents can’t join the game.

A code is usually needed to join the match, so there is no risk of random users joining in.

Esports says the new tool will increase its reporting accuracy over key metrics like scoring, enabling the company to bring in more opportunities for broadcast.

It will also enable better tournament gameplay for players and fans.

“This is another big step for Mogul players and partners. These improvements take an already great player experience and elevate it to world-class,” CEO Michael Rubinelli said.

“Mogul partner brands will be able to deliver exclusive tournament content and streaming experiences, along with many other desired features. We look forward to working with the Fortnite community for years to come,” he added.

Esports is steady in early morning trade and shares are trading for 1.4 cents each at 10:33 am AEST.
