Essential Metals (ESS) has received assay results from a recent drilling program conducted at the Sinclair Caesium Deposit in Western Australia.

Drilling aimed to test an infill, central and northern extension of the Sinclair Caesium Deposit which was mined by open pit during 2018 and 2019.

The program also tested the exploration target of approximately 1000 to 2000 tonnes between 8 per cent and 14 per cent caesium oxide.

Pleasingly, drilling confirmed a high-grade central zone of caesium located roughly 60 metres along strike from the zone previously mined from the Sinclair open pit mine.

Results from the central zone include five metres at 20.24 per cent caesium oxide from 54 metres, four metres at 19.13 per cent caesium oxide from 51 metres, three metres at 17.56 per cent caesium oxide from 53 metres, and one metre at 16.79 per cent caesium oxide from 59 metres.

“The laboratory results confirm what our geologists saw during the drilling programme, namely that the central zone contains high grade crystalline (caesium-bearing) pollucite,” Managing Director Tim Spencer said.

Unfortunately however, the infill and northern extension zones didn’t return any significant intersections.

Despite this, Essential Metals is encouraged by the high grades found in the Central Zone and believes more caesium will need to be uncovered in and around the Sinclair Deposit to conduct a second mining program.

The company will assess the drilling results against past exploration and mining activities. It will then use this to plan further exploration work at the deposit.

Specifically, Essential will reassess the infill zone and the southern end of the open pit to determine whether future drilling is feasible.

Company shares ended the day trading flat at 9.7 cents.
