Estrella Resources (ESR) drilled into new nickel sulphide reserves at its Carr Boyd site in Kalgoorlie.

Phase three drilling at the diamond hole CBDD057 found varying amounts of nickel sulphide in three different depth zones.

The upper two zones were previously identified using an electromagnetic survey, however, the deepest zone was located later on.

It was speculated that the electromagnetic feedback from the deepest zone was masked by the responses of zones close by.

The most shallow zone from 398m down found 34.34m of massive, highly disseminated and disseminated sulphides.

The middle zone from 500.4m down found 20.95m of massive, semi-massive and highly disseminated and disseminated sulphides.

The newly confirmed zone from the depth of 567.2m found 3.50m of massive, semi-massive and stringer sulphides.

Estrella Managing Director Chris Daws said the company’s explorations have been highly successful following findings at Broonhill.

“I have always believed that Carr Boyd could deliver a world class orebody and it’s not disappointing me at this stage. I look forward to what is uncovered next,” Mr Daws said.

The Carr Boyd site has been largely inactive since the early 1970s.

Estrella Resources was up 2.94 per cent, trading at 4.3 cents at 12:15 pm AEDT.
