Etherstack’s (ESK) UK subsidiary has penned a contract with Nokia Solutions and Networks Australia.
The new deal will see Etherstack Wireless supply professional services and a pilot license for the deployment of Etherstack’s MCX LMR-IWF product.
The MCX IWF is a telco network element that bridges traditional public safety land mobile radio (LMR) networks with next-generation MCPTX (mission-critical push-to-talk) services, which carriers are beginning to deploy for public safety agencies globally.
The contract is calculated to hold revenue of around $755,000, which is expected to be recognised by Etherstack this financial year.
“It is obvious that Etherstack has first-mover advantage in the provision of 3GPP standards-based LMR-IWF technology in key markets around the globe,” Etherstack CEO David Deacon said.
“We will keep pushing hard in the near term to cement our position as the leading supplier of this technology as public safety agencies transition from traditional digital radio networks to MCX-based solutions over 4G and 5G networks.”
Etherstack specialises in the manufacturing and licensing of mission-critical radio technologies for wireless equipment manufacturers and network operators around the globe.
Today’s news follows Etherstack’s half-yearly results, which saw the company deliver on its deal with Samsung for the AT&T Firstnet project in North America, along with major milestones on the Australian Defence Project.
The company also saw US$890,000 (A$1.3 billion) earned in the half year from WA resources networks and said it was well positioned for future follow-on contracts with the Australian Department of Defence.
The company’s revenue grew 13 per cent to US$4.9 million over the first half of 2022, and EBITDA grew by 51 per cent to US$2.22 million.
