Field Solutions (FSG) has been awarded around $20.5 million from the Federal Government’s Regional Connectivity Program (RCP) Fund.

The RCP Fund, which closed in November 2020, invested up to $83 million in telecommunications infrastructure projects in regional, rural and remote Australian communities.

Field Solutions will use the awarded funds to deliver new networks in 12 under-serviced areas, across five Australian states.

In New South Wales, this will apply to the Shires of Gunnedah, Moree Plains, Warren and Murrumbidgee. In Queensland, it will impact the shires of Isaac, Balonne, Blackall-Tambo, Paroo LGA, Bullo and Napranum.

Networks will also be deployed to the Shire of Swan Hill in Victoria, Arrawerr, Mungkarta, Gan Gan and Wandawuy in the Northern Territory, and the Central Midlands Region in Western Australia.

These local government areas are seriously lacking in true broadband and general connectivity services and will benefit greatly from the company’s network deployment.

Field Solutions’ CEO, Andrew Roberts, commented on how the company’s next-generation regional wireless network infrastructure will be deployed across under-serviced networks.

“FSG owns key spectrum across these sites, allowing us to deploy a mixture of mobile, voice and data, fixed broadband, IoT and 5G Services,” he said.

“Our aim is to deliver feature-rich, quality telecommunications services, equivalent to what is available in metropolitan areas,” he added.

The construction phase of these projects should commence in August, with revenue potentially flowing from the networks as early as the second half of the 2022 financial year. Field Solutions’ construction teams are currently finalising network builds across southern Queensland and central New South Wales, as well as planning construction activities for Western Australia.

Over the coming months, the company will also deploy 5G on selected networks, along with native voice services.

Field Solutions is up 21.43 per cent, trading at 17 cents per share at 12:22 pm AEST.
