Flexiroam (FRX) SIM cards are set to be sold on 100 Emirates flights after the company signed a one-year contract with the aviation giant.

Under the agreement Flexiroam’s SIM cards and data bundles will be offered as an in-flight retail product on the initial 100 planes, with scope to increase to 180 aircraft, generating an anticipated $150,000 in revenue.

Around 19 million passengers were carried by Emirates in 2021 and 2022, which operates on six continents and has a fleet of 262 aircraft.

Flexiroam said its customised data plan spans 188 countries, and that Emirates’ in-flight magazine would provide “a direct distribution channel for Flexiroam to reach Emirates passengers requiring roaming data.”

“Having Flexiroam added to the Emirates inflight offering is a fantastic step in our journey,” Flexiroam CEO Marc Barnett said.

“Flexiroam is a global leader in data roaming and the opportunity to partner with a globally recognised brand and market leader in Emirates is a great opportunity for us.

“Emirates has an established network of customers across the world that we can
leverage to further increase our market share and brand exposure globally.”

The initial one-year contract can be terminated by either party within 90 days.

FRX shares were up 10.3 per cent, trading at 4.3 cents at 3:37 pm AEDT.
