Fluence Corporation (FLC) is repositioning its global business to focus on its smart water solutions, which include Mabr-based Aspiral, Subre, and Nirobox.

Additionally, the water treatment company has reshuffled its board, with Chairman Richard Irving taking on the role of CEO.

Mabr-based solution

Fluence’s Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactor (MABR) solution provides highly efficient nutrient removal from wastewater.

During this process oxygen is constantly supplied to the nitrifying biofilm that develops on the wastewater side while denitrification (process where nitrate is reduced) occurs in the anoxic liquids (water bodies that are depleted of oxygen).

The Mabr technology is energy-efficient, cost effective, and comes in two formats – Aspiral and Subre.

Fluence has formed several key partnerships in China for its solutions which are at various stages of deployment.

Aspiral

Aspiral reduces energy consumption by up to 90 per cent when compared to conventional wastewater treatment methods.

This makes it suitable for off-the-grid power supply as its low energy needs can be supplied by alternate sources.

It is ideal for serving small towns, villages, resorts and residential communities.

Subre

Subre is used as an upgrade to improve quality, lower chemical use, increase capacity, and save on energy and operational costs.

It works on wastewater plants that are using Fluence’s Mabr solution.

Nirobox

Fluence’s Nirobox solution provides advanced treatment technologies in affordable and compact packages.

It can be used in the desalination of seawater, and to treat freshwater and wastewater.

Further, it offers the smallest footprint, meaning it can be used in industrial and commercial markets.

CEO change

After spending more than three years as CEO, Henry Charrabé and the board of directors have agreed now is the right time for him to transition out of the role.

He will continue as Non-Executive Director until December 1, 2020, and, effective immediately, Chairman Richard Irving will take on this role.

“I am most grateful for Henry’s significant contributions and dedication to the company and wish him the very best of success in the future. I am excited to step into the CEO role at Fluence while remaining its Chairman,” Richard said.

“Our Mabr technology and Smart Product Solutions have proved themselves in the market and I am confident that by focusing on selling these products to markets offering high growth potential, the company has the opportunity to accelerate profitable growth and deliver superior shareholder returns,” he added.

Fluence is steady on the market this morning with shares trading for 27 cents each at 10:57 am AEDT.
