Forbidden Foods (FFF) has signed a deal to distribute its plant-based Blue Dinosaur snack bars in Malaysia.

The company penned the exclusive agreement with Uway Australia and its partner H&W Food to distribute the products in Malaysia until 2024.

H&W Food has access to more than 1500 distribution points in Malaysia, with a number of well-known brands to its name in the Malaysian market, including Golden Circle, Nestle and Cadbury.

This marks Forbidden Foods’ first export agreement for Blue Dinosaur into Asia, targeting total sales of $810,000 by 30 June 2024.

As such, H&W Food has agreed to support the brand with targeted offline distribution opportunities in the region. To kick it off, an initial purchase order of $30,000 has been made.

The Blue Dinosaur range will launch in selected Cold Storage and Mercato supermarkets. These are operated by Dairy Farm International, a retailer with over 10,200 outlets across Asia.

Forbidden Foods Co-founder and CEO Marcus Brown said the company was delighted to sign its first export agreement into Asia for Blue Dinosaur.

“For the brand to enter a large, new market such as Malaysia with ranging already secured, provides significant visibility in market from day one,” Mr Brown said.

“We look forward to further solidifying our relationship with H&W Food and we continue to explore options to expand the penetration of Blue Dinosaur across Asia.”

Forbidden Foods last traded at 11.5 cents per share at 1:15 pm AEST.
