Forrestania Resources (FRS) has completed it inaugural mapping and sampling program at the Forrestania Lithium, Gold and Nickel Project.

The Forrestania Project lies in the Archaean Forrestania Greenstone Belt of Western Australia, roughly 80 kilometres east of Hyden.

It sits adjacent to Wesfarmers’ (WES) Mt Holland Project and hosts numerous lithium targets, historical high-grade gold projects and nickel geochemical anomalies.

While analysis is continuing, encouraging initial observations have been identified at the Gem Mining Lease 77/549.

Forrestania has observed coarse-grained, fractionated pegmatites containing potential lithium-bearing minerals.

Assays from the rock chip sampling are expected in roughly four to six weeks.

A deep ground penetrating radar (DGPR) geophysical survey was also completed across M77/549 to identify potential pegmatite horizons.

The survey also aimed to characterise the geometry of potential pegmatite accumulations and identify drill ready pegmatite targets to follow up on.

Results from the survey are expected in the upcoming weeks as well.

Drilling permitting is underway and work is planned to begin once the required statutory and environmental approvals are in place.

This drilling will focus on the east-west orientated pegmatite accumulation zones at the Gem Prospect.

Shares in Forrestania were up 8.06 per cent on the market and were trading at 33.5 cents at 10:28 am AEDT.
