Forrestania Resources (FRS) has recommenced exploration fieldwork at the Hydra lithium project in the James Bay region in Quebec, Canada.

The fieldwork will initially focus on the sub-projects, Python East, and Python West, which have remained unaffected by the fires in the region.

The company’s joint venture partner, ALX Resources, will conduct the fieldwork, which includes reconnaissance and rock sampling of priority target areas.

“We are grateful to our Joint Venture partner ALX for managing the various logistical challenges created by the delays and now look forward to testing the potential of the Hydra project, which comprises one of the larger landholdings in this highly prospective jurisdiction,” FRS Managing Director Michael Anderson said.

Field explorations originally commenced in May 2023 with the hope of intercepting lithium pegmatites. However, the program was abruptly halted due to restrictions imposed by the Government of Quebec.

With exploration now resumed in the eastern part of the tenement, a helicopter will be utilised for the program, along with satellite imagery for spectral analysis of lithium pathfinder elements.

The program will continue into early September.

FRS shares were up 12.7 per cent, trading at 6.2 cents at 2:17 pm AEST.
