Pioneer Minerals (ASX: PMM) was up after it entered into staged option agreements to acquire the San Francisco gold-copper-silver project in Argentina.
The acquisition provides Pioneer with an advanced polymetallic exploration project centred on the historically mined and extensively drilled San Francisco Breccia, together with a substantially larger surrounding exploration position containing numerous additional mineralised quartz-tourmaline breccias and vein systems.
Historical drilling at San Francisco returned numerous broad, high-grade polymetallic intercepts containing significant gold, silver and copper mineralisation.
“San Francisco represents a compelling opportunity for Pioneer. Extensive historical drilling has intersected broad zones of high-grade gold, silver and copper mineralisation, including mineralisation extending to significant depths,” CEO. Michael Beven, said.
PMM up 52.8% to 27.5¢.
Li-S Energy (ASX: LIS) was popular on HotCopper on news it had signed an agreement with Australian defence technology company Safesky Systems.
The agreement targets the supply of Li-S Energy’s Australian made lithium sulphur batteries to power Safesky’s fleet of tactical drones, and establishes a framework for the two companies to jointly evaluate, test and integrate LIS cells and battery packs into Safesky platforms, progressing to commercial supply subject to the results.
Safesky is headquartered in Melbourne, Victoria, with operations in Australia and the United States. Its systems are National Defense Authorisation Act (NDAA) compliant, and
“Safesky builds exactly the kind of tactical drones where our batteries make the biggest difference: platforms where every gram matters, and where range, time on station and payload are most important,” Li-S Energy MD and CEO, Dr Lee Finniear, said.
LIS jumped 4.8% to 15.5¢.
Electro Optic Systems Holdings (ASX:EOS) jumped on reports it had entered into an agreement with the government of a Middle Eastern Gulf state for the provision of a nation-wide, counter-drone defence system.
The $700 million contract requires the rapid deployment of a cellular, nation-wide, counter-drone system with EOS’ NiDAR C2 at its core.
MD and CEO, Dr Andread Schwer, said EOS expects over 80% of revenue to be earned over the initial 12 to 24 months after the contract becomes unconditional. Approximately 20% of the Contract’s value relates to ongoing support over a four-year period.
“EOS believes that completing this work may lead to further sales opportunities in future, although there is no guarantee this will occur,” Dr Schwer told shareholders.
EOS was up 1.98% to $10.79.
Looking wider, the S&P/ASX 200 was up today, gaining 42.30 points or 0.49% to 8,703.20, despite crossing below its 20-day moving average. This index is virtually unchanged over the last five days and year to date.
Elsewhere, the rich Fosterville project is celebrating a golden decade, 10 years after a major gold discovery transformed the mine and helped spark a resurgence in Victoria’s minerals
In 2016, miners discovered the Swan Zone – a major new deposit of ultra-high-grade gold deep beneath Fosterville.
The find turned Fosterville into a global mining success story, putting Victorian gold back on the map and driving a new wave of exploration and investment.
Since then, minerals exploration investment has reached record levels, Stawell Gold Mine has reopened and Victoria’s annual gold production has hit its highest level in more than a century.
Fosterville is now Victoria’s largest gold producer and is closing in on its five millionth ounce of gold.
